COVID-19 has put a number of things in our life on hold, but finding the right school for your child does not have to be one of them. We are currently accepting applications for the 2020-21 school year on a rolling basis throughout the school year as space allows and our 2021-22 application is now open.
To apply, complete the following steps:
- Request information
- Attend a virtual tour
- Submit an application - Priority consideration for our Children's House, Elementary, and Middle School programs for the 2021-22 school year has closed. Applications are now accepted on a rolling basis, as space allows. Applications for our Toddler Community are accepted year-round.
- If applicable, submit a tuition assistance application
2021-22 decision letters will be emailed by March 5, 2021. Families must confirm their acceptance by March 19, 2021.
Contact our Admissions team with questions or for an update on your child's admissions status.
Toddler Community 14 to 36 months
We have 20 children, with about 10 openings per year for new children to start when they are 14 to 18 months. Openings are year-round as the 3 year olds move up to the next age group. Our Toddler Community is open for on-campus instruction.
Children's House 3 to 6 years
We have four classrooms (mixed ages of 3 to 6 years) at our NW campus, with about 20 openings for new 3 year olds to start each September (children who have turned three by September 1). The Terrace Children's House, our SE campus, typically has eight openings for new 3 year olds to start each fall. On occasion, there is room to start children who are 4 or 5 years old at either location, and to start a child in the middle of the school year. Our Children’s House and Terrace programs are open for on-campus instruction.
Elementary 6 to 12 years
We have three Lower Elementary classrooms (mixed age group of 6 to 9 year old students) and three Upper Elementary classrooms (mixed age group of 9 to 12 year old students). Families interested in applying to the Upper Elementary program are prioritized based on their commitment to staying through the sixth grade year and intention to transition into our middle school program. The Lower Elementary and Upper Elementary programs are currently operating in distance learning mode with some opportunities for limited in-person instruction.
Metro Montessori 12 to 15 years
Metro Montessori Middle School is a mixed age group of 12 to 15 year olds (7th, 8th and potentially 9th grades). Most students have graduated from an AMI Montessori elementary program, and we accept a few students new to Montessori who seem to be a good fit for our approach to learning. MMM is currently operating in distance learning mode with some opportunities for limited in-person instruction.
Our plans are in accordance with guidance from the Center for Disease Control, the Oregon Health Authority, the Oregon Department of Education, and Early Learning Division. For more information, see our COVID-19 Policies and Procedures V6 (PDF).
